Heredity is really cool. It means that you have a piece of your mom and dad in you. You have all kinds of characteristics that you got from your parents. Heredity is the characteristics and or traits that you get from your parents. Sometimes traits skip a generation or three. You could have black hair and none of your parents have black hair. But you realize that your grandpa before his hair turned white and had minimal ear hair that he had black hair when the rest of your family had red hair.

Traits are really cool too. Anything and everything can change a trait. If you have a huge risk of having type 2 diabetes you cand change that by exercising and eating right. If you have a trait that the rest of your family has that trait is dominant. If you have a trait that hasn't shown up in twenty years that is recessive. Genetics is really cool and infomative.
